Each parent contributes one of its two alleles at each locus. A recessive trait needs two variant copies for its modeled visual form; one copy is a carrier, or het. Incomplete-dominant traits have single-copy and homozygous forms, often called supers.
Labels describe trait expression in isolation. Other traits can mask it, and combinations are not a photo or a guaranteed appearance. Yellow Belly complex single-copy animals can look very similar to wild type. A calculator cannot establish an animal's genotype.
Yellow Belly, Specter, Gravel and Asphalt share EDNRB2. A parent can have two different alleles at that locus, but never three. Their compound offspring are shown by allele names, without guessing a designer morph name.
This is hypothetical manual entry of confirmed genotypes. Unselected modeled loci are assumed wild type; missing animal records are not evidence of wild type. Different loci assort independently in this model. Linkage, uncertain parents, survival and health risks are not calculated. Use up to six loci across both parents, with at most 972 complete genotype outcomes.
