Snake keeping at collection scale is its own discipline. The animals eat on a cycle rather than daily, they refuse for reasons that are usually fine and occasionally not, they live in arranged racks rather than individually admired vivariums, and the ones you pair carry genetics you have to reason about before you commit a season to them. Generic pet software gets none of that shape right, because it was built for animals that eat every day and live in one tank.
The genetics part is where most reptile apps make a choice, and most choose breadth: a trait library spanning eight or ten popular species, one layer deep each. That is the right call for a mixed collection and the wrong one if you are serious about a single species, where the questions get specific fast — does this name mean the same thing the seller meant, what are the real odds on this pairing, did this clutch just prove a het I was unsure about.
KeeperOS made the other choice. The morph engine covers Western Hognose only, and covers it properly, because that is the species the person building it keeps.
The collection lives as a room. Racks and enclosures are arranged on a wall the way they physically sit, and care, feeding and weighing happen by tapping the tub rather than by finding a record. Feeding is handled as a round down the rack, with refusal runs and size-up hints raised as they appear.
The genetics are the depth. 319 curated Western Hognose morph records, with 185 slug aliases so the name on a seller's listing resolves to the same morph as the name in your head. Pairing odds return the offspring distribution before you pair, clutch results are scored against what was predicted, and hets you were carrying as suspected are confirmed from actual offspring rather than asserted.
The season attaches to those same snakes: projects to hold your intended pairings, clutches with laid dates, egg counts and candle status, and incubator temperature tracked as a series over time. Hatchlings enter the collection with the clutch as their origin, so their care log starts immediately and their growth sits next to their parents'.
Selling is part of the record. A MorphMarket export puts your listings in a shape that platform accepts, animal transfers move a record into the buyer's own account with a permanent origin ID and a frozen snapshot, and printable certificates and batch transfer labels cover a table at a show.
For the parts of snake keeping that are not breeding: brumation and hibernaculum tracking, weights with growth curves against feeding and shed events, a printable crisis packet for a vet visit, and sitter and vet handoffs for the weeks you are not there.

Any of them for husbandry, racks, feeding, weights, pairings, clutches and incubation. The morph and pairing-odds engine is Western Hognose only. If you keep a mixed snake collection, everything works except that the genetics maths applies to your hognose and not your corns.
Because doing one species properly is more useful than doing eight shallowly, and because it is the species the person building this keeps. 319 curated morph records with alias handling, real pairing odds and proven-het discovery is a different thing from a trait dropdown. More species are in progress, but we would rather ship the next one at that depth than list ten now.
